B Corp Certification

B Corp Certification is one of the world’s most recognized frameworks for demonstrating that a company meets high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Managed by the nonprofit B Lab, it signals that your business doesn’t just aim to be the best in the world—but the best for the world.

Why pursue B Corp Certification?
Achieving B Corp status shows stakeholders—customers, investors, talent, and partners—that sustainability and ethics are embedded in your business model. It can strengthen brand reputation, attract mission-driven talent, and open doors to B2B opportunities with other certified companies. But it’s not a marketing badge; it requires deep and verifiable impact across your operations.

What’s involved in becoming a B Corp?
Certification hinges on the B Impact Assessment (BIA)—a rigorous questionnaire that measures your company’s impact across five key areas:

  1. Governance
  2. Workers
  3. Community
  4. Environment
  5. Customers

To certify, your company must:

  • Score at least 80 points on the BIA (out of 200)
  • Provide supporting documentation for verification
  • Meet B Lab’s legal requirements (e.g. amending governing documents to reflect stakeholder governance)
  • Recertify every three years – showing continuous improvement

The process can be demanding but offers a powerful framework for transforming business practices and measuring progress.
