Neil Ian is a circular economy professional with a background in environmental science and biotechnology, and microbiology. Ian has a pragmatic approach to creating solutions, guided by an analytical and detail oriented mind. He has a keen ability to process and organize information, with a meticulous nature that ensures all aspects of a situation are considered.

4. Industrial Pre-treatment Process design for Kenya's cut-flower & agriculture residues for the production of insect protein & biofertilizers.
5. The bioconversion of restaurant food wastes in Bangkok for the production of insect fat for cosmetic application.
He studied the biodiversity and the potential of using predatory bacteria to control toxic algae for his masters. During his undergraduate he trained in water quality analysis as an intern at SGS Philippines.
He has experiences in the food & drug industry from the research lab, to quality control in manufacturing, to effective professional marketing and sales early in his career and he was awarded the PMR of the year in 2001 at Leo Pharma Philippines under Zuellig Pharma.
Ian was a science educator for more than a decade, and actively volunteered in university-community relations. His innovations in undergraduate environmental education includes the use of simple and practical projects that enhanced student's understanding and appreciation of sustainability principles. He popularized clean cookstoves technology, composting and urban gardening, and drove planting of thousands of legume trees (Madre de cacao) and Moringa oleifera for its nutritional & medicinal properties (anticancer, antidiabetic).
He was an associate researcher in community development office & the social science research center under the Office of Research & Innovation where he studied the applicability of biochar-integrated systems for forest/watershed and peri-urban communities.
He developed clean cookstoves that are fuel-efficient and smokeless to address eye & respiratory diseases in women & children. He investigated the effectiveness of green coconut husk biochar and Moringa-Sand in purifying water as one of the vital need of partner communities. He taught natural farming methods, including rapid composting of organic wastes to leaders and women of an indigenous people as a solution to enhance food security & nutritional status of women & children.
