Mike developed and led the implementation of AstraZeneca’s Zero Carbon strategy. This included structuring the first B2B Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) contract in the U.S. and addressing resilience issues associated with electrification.

Developed a pioneering sustainability and decarbonization strategy for The Explorers Club, focusing on minimizing the environmental and cultural impacts of global exploration. The strategy was the first of its kind, designed to promote sustainable practices within the exploration industry, support local communities, and highlight efforts that align with environmental stewardship and cultural preservation. This initiative set a new standard for responsible exploration and adventure worldwide

Facilitated Washington, DC’s first Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for solar energy at Dunbar High School, resulting in the highest-rated LEED NC School (Platinum) in the district.

Implemented a Zero Waste program at AstraZeneca’s Gaithersburg campus, achieving a 59% reduction in waste and increasing the recycling rate from 62% to 87%, leading to TRUE Zero Waste certification.

Developed and implemented a sustainability program for the DC Public Schools Modernization Program, resulting in a 28% energy reduction and $3M in annual savings.

Managed the restoration of over 300 FAA facilities across the U.S. to their original condition, resulting in a $2.8M annual savings and a two-year return on investment (ROI).

Led the development of a Zero Energy, Water, and Waste office building at the same cost as a traditional International Building Code structure. Collaborated with leading institutions to create state-of-the-art sustainable building designs.

Implemented energy conservation measures at AstraZeneca’s Gaithersburg Campus, resulting in a 19% energy reduction and $1M in annual savings.

Created and managed the framework for “Play DC,” a multi-agency program to build sustainable playgrounds and implement stormwater management across 40 sites, improving the city’s stormwater management plan.

Developed a comprehensive sustainability plan for the Government of Algeria, focusing on the use of sustainable building materials and the integration of renewable energy sources. The plan aimed to improve housing quality and increase the adoption of renewable energy across the country, contributing to Algeria's long-term environmental and economic goals.

Conducted Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for key sectors in Kenya, including transportation, geothermal energy, textiles, mining, and agriculture. The assessments provided critical insights into the environmental impacts of proposed projects, ensuring that sustainable practices were integrated into the planning and execution phases.
